Anyone who appreciates good commercials, and anyone who looks forward to the annual musical extravaganza that is the Super Bowl halftime show will also undoubtedly be tuning in to see rapper Kendrick Lamar headline.
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” Kendrick said in a statement addressing his upcoming performance. “And I will be there to remind everyone why.” He said, “They got it right.” More recently, he explained why he views rap as an “art”. “It brings culture to the forefront, where it should be, and doesn’t minimize the culture to just a catchy verse or song,” he told Apple Music at the Super Bowl halftime press conference on 6th February, according to ABC News. This is a real art form. The Grammy winner admitted that he was surprised to be chosen to head the halftime show. Previous hosts included
Britney spears, Janet jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Usher.
