Directed by Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex’s Kenji Kamiyama, War of the Rohirrim is set nearly 200 years before the Lord of the Rings film trilogy and stars Gaia Wise as Hera, the daughter of Rohan’s then-king, Helm Hammerhand (Brian Cox). After Helm accidentally kills a lord from the Dunlendings kingdom, a war between the two countries breaks out, pitting Hera (Luke Pasqualiano) against Wulf, her intended bethroed. The reviews for the film were mixed. Many praised the size of the production, but found the animation and story to be disappointing. Tolkein’s works. Want more io9 News? Want more io9 news?
