The Nomadic Network has returned!
Big news everyone! The Nomadic Network is back! TNN is a community that we created for travelers in 2019. TNN was created to help travelers connect through meetups in person.
In 2020, we shifted to virtual events, connecting you to a wide variety of voices that could teach you everything from budget travel to itinerary planning to travel insurance to finding friends to information about specific destinations.
We also ran 25 tours around Europe, the Middle East, and Mexico. Seeing all of these connections between like-minded travelers form true friendships was truly awesome and unforgettable.
However, last summer, I realized that I wanted to focus my time more on writing books. This meant I had to reduce my business activities, so I decided to put TNN on hold while I worked out how to balance my new goals.
One our incredible TNN chapter leaders, who have been with us from the beginning, offered to take over and keep the community alive. Lisa Field will be the one to run TNN in the future. Lisa has always been an active, inspiring member of the community who has taken on new challenges over time. She has attended more than 100 virtual events, in addition to hosting the Portland Chapter’s monthly meetings. Here we are at TravelCon earlier this year:
In 2019, she began building a travel blog with international travel tips and hacks, joined The Nomadic Network (TNN) as a founding chapter leader in Portland, and hosted a few of her own events. We were at TravelCon in the beginning of this year. She’s even ran local tours, offering hikes and snowshoe trips around the Pacific Northwest.
So, when she offered to take over TNN, it seemed like a natural fit. It seemed natural to have a community member lead TNN into the next phase. TNN was created to help travelers find “their people” and improve their lives. I wanted a place for travelers to find “their people” and change their lives for the better.
So, what does this mean for you?
I’ve given control of everything over to Lisa: the website, the infrastructure, the email list, and all social media accounts.
Moving forward, you’ll be hearing from her. She is getting ready to host events and tours in the fall. The same spirit and vibe will continue to be maintained.
TNN community events
First of all, TNN events have returned. TNN is hosting a series of events to help travelers connect with people and resources who can make their travels better and different. The events will be free to all who want to attend. Here are the first:
And if you would like to be part of the Portland Oregon chapter, there are monthly meetups in the city. Sign up here.
TNN Tours
These tours will be similar to those of recent TNN tours. The tours are still focused on traveling with other travelers who share similar interests. The emphasis will still be on cultural immersion and local interaction. They’ll still be budget conscious, but all accommodations will at least be three-stars (everyone needs a good sleep, after all), and the tour prices will already include most expected gratuities.
Additionally, they’ll have an option for adding a carbon offset, and Lisa herself will be traveling on each and every tour herself!
Use the code “LAUNCH” to get $200 OFF when you register for any tour before Sunday, August 18th, 2024 at 11:59 PM PT.
