The download: Chatbots for underage celebrities and OpenAI’s latest model
When MIT Technology Review checked out the site last week, it was filled with popular bots created by users who were portraying underage characters such as Jenna Ortega, Emma Watson, Hermione Grant, and Millie Bobby Brown. The conversations, along with the fact Botify AI offers “send hot photos” for its characters, suggest that it is not an accident that sexually-charged conversations and images are elicited. OpenAI has just released GPT-4.5, a new version of its flagship large language model which it claims is its biggest and best model for chat yet. OpenAI’s ChatGPT pro subscribers can already access the new model. It is part of their non-reasoning line. It says that the scale jump from GPT-4o up to GPT 4.5 is the exact same as from GPT 3.5 to GPT-4o. Experts estimate that GPT-4 may have up to 1.8 trillion parameters.
