‘Survivor’ Fan Favorite Was 71

Jane Bright, Survivor: Nicaragua contestant has died. She was 71.1001010.
Ashley Hammett, the daughter of Season 21 fan favorite Ashley Hammett, announced her mother’s passing in a post on Facebook Thursday. Her body had been discovered earlier in the day at her North Carolina residence.
Hammett wrote in his post: “Today Jane Hammett Bright died at her home, found by a friend and the county sheriff.” The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Bright, a dog trainer born in Jackson Springs, N.C. on Dec. 13, 53, was 56 years old when she competed in the CBS competition in 2010. She was placed in the older Espada group when the castaways were divided into two tribes according to their age.

After being the 13th castaway voted off, she won the audience-voted Sprint Fan Favorite, along with a $100,000 prize. She won $100,000 and the Sprint Fan Favorite award after being voted out as the 13th castaway. One of my favorite Survivors, as I refer to them all, passed away. Jane was my favorite! Bright was remembered by fans and fellow Survivor cast members, including Survivor: Ghost Island’s Donathan Hurley, who remembered her as “a firecracker.”

He wrote: “Lord I sure got my heart broken when opened Facebook after work!” “One of the Survivor families, which I refer to as a whole, that I love, is no longer with us. Jane was my favorite! Jane was an absolute firecracker. Never a dull moment! RIP Jane.”
