Sasheer talks about becoming Agatha all along’s final girl
Agatha all Along ended this week. While the focus was largely on Agatha and Billy, as well as Rio, Sasheer’s potions specialist Jen Kale played a key role. She reluctantly joins her antihero coven on their journey to the Witches Road, which will, if all goes according to plan, bring everyone’s deepest desires. In Jen’s case that means regaining the powers she lost over a hundred years ago. She discussed Jen and Agatha’s dynamic in the interview, which was based largely on morality. Jen is a “pretty virtuous person” who enjoys knowledge and uses it to help others. Zamata explained that the two witches don’t get along because Jen has lost her spark. “It’s kind of a personality mismatch more than something happened between them,” Zamata told Collider.. “
a know-it-all who prides herself on being a do-gooder and healing people and helping people, it might irk Agatha, who doesn’t really help people.”[Jen’s]Still, power is power, and Jen would very much like hers back. Agatha All Along ends with Jen having accomplished her goal and, more importantly, still alive. Zamata praised Kathryn Hahn, director Gandja Monteiro and the cast for making Jen’s dream come true. “I felt lucky to be able access that part of me while performing. I’ve never been able do it before. It’s a great feeling to be able finally to get your power back after 100 years. You feel like you are rejoicing but also sad that you haven’t been able to
like getting your friend back.”[…]Comics readers know Jen becomes the Witch Woman and is a relative of the original Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze. Zamata did not know the details of her return to MCU. However, she said that if Jen “found a new coven and [had it] rededicated her life to healing, she would be happy. I’m so happy to see her finally get what she wanted. I also think that people love watching
succeed. I’d love to see her actually use the power that she regained.” And if not Marvel, she said she’s open to doing basically anything, from doing more action to going back to horror and continuing her final girl streak.[or]Agatha All Along is fully available over on Disney+.[Jen]Want more io9 news?
