Sarah Jessica Parker Endorses Kamala Harris while referring to “Childless Cat Lady”, Carrie Bradshaw
Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, announced today her support for Kamala Harris through an Instagram post.
She wrote: “For the climate. For hope. For friends and loved-ones in the LGBTQ+ Community. For freedom. For science. For affordable healthcare. For our union members. For democracy. For my daughters. For my son. For all our children. For equality. For dignity. For hope. For the Constitution. For me. For love. For choice. And for that childless cat lady who I play on television. I am voting for Governor Tim Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris with a lot of optimism, joy and pride. X, SJ”
Parker showed another picture in which she was seen hanging a Harris Walz banner on her window.
The “childless kitten lady” comment refers to a statement made by JD Vance in an interview with Fox News from 2021. Vance criticized Democrats, saying that their leadership is run by “a bunch childless cat women who are miserable with their lives and choices they’ve made and want to make everyone else miserable as well.”
She campaigned on behalf of Joe Biden during his 2020 presidential bid. She had previously backed Barack Obama. She was a member of Obama’s President’s Committee for the Arts and Humanities.
Harris, in the final days before the election, has invited celebrities like Bruce Springsteen and Eminem to make campaign appearances. She is also promoting a concert that will be held at a secret location, with a guest artist who may or may not be a celebrity.
