Rob Lowe Is Open To Reprising The ‘9-1-1 Lone Star’ Role

This post contains spoilers about the 9-1-1: Lone Star series finale.
Rob Lowe’s six-year tenure as a firefighter and first responder has left him with a deep respect for them.
The 6x Golden Globe winner said that he would not rule out the possibility of reprising his character, Captain Owen Strand, in a spin-off series or in the Los Angeles-set original series which is currently in its 8th season.
Lowe said to People, “I never say no to anything. And it’s a role that means a great deal to me.” Lowe said, “I am a huge admirer of first responders and I consider it an honor to bring their stories to screen. So you never know.”

The final episode of the Ryan Murphy procedural, starring Capt. Strand helps the 126 to save Austin, Texas against an asteroid disaster and nuclear disaster. He then bids farewell to the team and returns to the NYFD.
Lowe said that he was enjoying the reaction of viewers to the finale. It was important to me that we ended the show on a positive note, as people have invested so much in the characters over the past five seasons. It’s very obvious that the audience will miss the show just as much as the cast and crew are going to miss it.

Rashad Raisani, the showrunner of Lone Star, had previously expressed his regret at the cancellation of the show in a postmortem Deadline interview. He also stated that he hoped the characters would be revived by another show. He said, “The reason everyone is alive is because that would be fantastic.”
Raisani added, “There would be nothing better than having to revisit these characters whether they come to LA or go to LA or that city.”
