Prince Robert–who shares Frederik, as well as kids Princess Charlotte, 29, and Prince Alexandre, 27,with wife Princess Julie–detailed his last hours. Prince Robert shared a long statement on the POLG Foundation’s website that said, “Last Friday February 28th, our beloved son invited us to his room for one final time to speak with him,” “Frederik found the strength and the courage to say goodbye to each of us in turn.”Following the prince sharing a goodbye to his direct family, as well as his cousins, the 56-year-old added that his son left the world by sharing one last joke. “After sharing his farewells with each of us–some kind and wise, others instructive, in true Frederik style–he left us all with a long-standing joke, in true Frederik’s fashion,” continued the prince who is a cousin of Grand Duke Henri
of Luxembourg. “Even at his end, his humor and boundless compassion compelled to him leave us with a last laugh — to cheer us up all.”
