Peace Vans are ready to create the buzz you need for 2025.

It has been a long and strange journey to bring the new Volkswagen Bus to the U.S., in its electric version of 2025 ID.Buzz. The new model replaces the older Bus, but it does not replace the culture. Peace Vans, a Seattle-based shop, has spent six months behind the scenes working with ID.Buzz to customize camper packages for owners. Peace Vans, a Seattle-based company, has spent six months working with ID.Buzz to create customized camper packages. There are three different buildouts available for the Buzz. The Buzz.Box is a box that fits into the back of the vehicle to accommodate the “versatile camper.” The company appears to be saying that “versatile” means “here’s a neat little kitchen, so you can cook yourself, and everything else is up to you.” The slideout looks slick with a Dometic fridge of 35 liters, a single-burner, two cutting boards, a Dometic sink and a storage compartment. The trim bin has slots for a Bluetooth Speaker, wireless charging pad and some kind of caddy. This one starts at $7.995. It costs $10,995.1001010The Box and Box Sleeper can be ordered from Peace Vans and installed locally. We’re told that it takes two people about a day to do. The layout of a mini kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove and sink. However, this is crammed between the front seats and an L-shaped lounge which converts into a double bed. The sink is located next to the stove. Preparation and cutting will be done at the dining table, which is in the middle. The Buzz.Camper comes with a folding outdoor workspace for camping in nice spots where bugs aren’t as bad. The layout can be transformed into four different spaces: work, eat and chill, or sleep. The price of this vehicle is not yet known, but Bus fans might want to wait. The company is working to get the U.S. Department of Transportation’s approval for a pop up camper. It should be ready by late 2025. It’ll be the Magic Bus. Magic Buzz. Perhaps both, depending on jurisdiction.

Order books are open now for all options, first deliveries of the Buzz.Box and Buzz.Box.Sleeper anticipated in November 2024, around the same time VW plans on having the ID.Buzz at U.S. dealers.
