In its time, those V6 engines offered robust performance and made for enjoyable driving, and the Dino Ferraris were also the first roadgoing production Ferraris to be mid-engined, as well as the first Ferraris to be produced in large quantities.
The first roadgoing Dino was the 206, powered by a 2.0-liter V6, which was succeeded by the 246, with a bigger 2.4-liter engine. Dino launched the first V8 Ferrari, the 208/308 after that.
