Mercedes-Maybach Spy shots surface before Pebble Beach debut
The Mercedes-Maybach SL was teased with new spy photos ahead of its reveal on August 18 at Pebble Beach. These came a little more than a week before it finally makes its world premiere at the 73rd Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

SL Goes from Benz and AMG to Maybach
Previously, AMG pointed out that it would never fuse an AMG model with the Maybach brand. As they say, “Never Say Never.”
The SL is one of the oldest core series from the three-pointed-star marque. So, its combined legacy and luxury make it an enticing addition to the ultra-luxurious Maybach line.
Since AMG had already taken total control in the development of the current generation of the SL, the decision of Maybach to extend its opulent mark on the range inevitably intertwined it with the high-performance arm of Mercedes.
Expected Features
A few days ago, the Mercedes-Maybach SL was once again spied on while making its rounds before its historic unveiling in California. Although the images still showed the car in partial camouflage wrap, it never failed to elicit excitement among automotive enthusiasts.
The gaps in the Maybach SL’s camo revealed that it has ditched the signature quad-exhaust pipes with square tips typically found in its AMG guise. The wheel design remained the same. However, the final version is likely to adopt the ultra-sophisticated styling of the Maybach models or a classier design. Official teasers by its maker suggested that it would have a darkened cover for the hood. The hood will feature holographic logos of the double M against the iconic three-pointed standing star. The front grille is likely to retain Maybach’s distinctive vertical slats in a large panel.
