Martha Stewart says that the parole officer refused to let her host ‘SNL: That Bastard’

Martha Stewart, who spent some time in prison, could have hosted Saturday Night Live.
The television host and entrepreneur said she was invited to host SNL after serving six months in prison in 2005 for lying about an investment, but her parole officer prevented her from appearing on the show.
Stewart joked that he was asked to do it by his parole officer when he was leaving Alderson, the camp – that incarceration facility – where he had been for some time. “My parole officer didn’t allow me to do it.”

Stewart stated that she could only be away from her home for eight hours per day.

Fallon asked Stewart, “The parole officer told you no?” This prompted Stewart’s response, “No! That bastard!”
Stewart said that she had her parole officer’s name and phone number, saying, “I am so pissed” about not being able do it.
Stewart remained hopeful “maybe someday,” she would be able to host the NBC late night sketch show, as she believes she “would amazing.”
She said, “Start a movement.”
Fallon began the interview by mentioning all of the SNL cast that have impersonated Stewart throughout the years. This included Janeane Garofalo Nancy Walls Carell Ana Gasteyer Amy Poehler Rachel Dratch David Spade Kristen Wiig Kate McKinnon and Chloe Fineman.
Stewart stated that Spade is her favorite, noting “he was wearing [her] poncho” during the sketch that he did on SNL.
Fallon asked her if she liked it when people imitated her. She replied, “Yeah. I love it.” “Imitation is flattery at its highest level.”
