Jennifer Garner is like an untold number of L.A. residents who live in the fire zones and feel guilty they were spared when so many of their friends and neighbors were not.

Garner, standing in front of burned-down structures in the Pacific Palisades, told MSNBC alongside chef Jose Andres, “I did lose a friend and for our church, it’s really tender … so I don’t feel like I should talk about her yet. But yes, I lost a friend that did not escape in time. “

She continued to say that she could list 100 friends who had lost everything in the blaze, and added, “I almost feel guilty walking through my home.” What can I do to help? What can I do? What can I do? What can I offer? “

Garner has lived in the Palisades a quarter century, and part of that was spent with ex-husband Ben Affleck, who lived nearby and was photographed with a pensive look driving to her house after he was evacuated.

Pacific Palisades Fire In Malibu

The fires are still raging, with more winds expected this weekend. L.A. Mayor is under pressure after the Fire Chief of L.A. went on television and attacked her for cutting the Fire Dept. budget. The Chief was apparently triggered by the Mayor’s statement at a press conference earlier in the week that budget cuts did not affect the response to fires. The Chief said that was BS.
