“Listen to this voicemail I got from the bakery COMPLETELY RUINING MY GENDER REVEAL,” reads the text over the video. In the caption of the video, Ariel wrote, “Imagine paying $$ and walking into a bakery with a sealed letter from a doctor to currate

an intimate moment between you and your partner, only to have a random, careless women ruin it with one voicemail… thank you… If my eyes are bloodshot it’s because I’ve cried all morning.” One of the most popular comments was “why didn’t you hire a gender keeper?” Another said, “her expression is very millenial.” Others took her side, saying: “Why couldn’t she simply say, ‘Can you give us a phone call about your order?” ‘”

Another suggested she cancel the cake order and tell the bakery, “I actually don’t need the cake anymore because you ruined the surprise.”

The video was posted to X, where people were decidedly more critical of Ariel, saying that this isn’t a real problem, that gender reveal parties are uncouth, that the bakery worker was just doing her job, and even that blackberry and raspberry filling look very similar so there wouldn’t have been much of a reveal.[sic]Why is it not surprising that someone self-indulgent enough to have a “gender reveal party” gets pissy that someone nice and professional, just doing their job, can’t accommodate her every demand?

Anger is not a good emotion. Lady is just doing her job. She probably assumed that a family member or friend had placed the order. To throw a successful gender reveal, you need the support of others. Someone else should have done the cake, without parents getting involved. Mom shouldn’t be mad…

Poor thing. The baby can’t be born now.

I couldn’t imagine anything less important if I tried.

Instead of leaving someone else’s number for cake update …., she left her own and blamed the baker for ruining her reveal when in fact it was her own poor planning? Okay

All bakeries should follow this advice, even if the ingredients are in stock.

Need to start a baker. I’m going to make it my mission in life to ruin as many gender-revealing parties as possible.

Just f–g let people know. Just f—g let people know.

Kindof strange that a random bakery would know the gender before you.
