The Hollywood Reporter reported that
Murder Incorporated Records executive Irv Gotti (Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr.) died at 54 years old on February 5, 2025. Irv rose in prominence in the music industry working with successful musicians including Ashanti, DMX, and Ja Rule in the 90s and 2000s, worked at Def Jam, and formed Murder Inc. Records in 1998.
His three children, Angie, Sonny, and Jonathan released a statement following his passing. It is with heavy heart that we announce the death of our father, Irving “Irv Gotti” Lorenzo on February 5, 2025,” wrote his children via Instagram, along with a picture of Irv as a young boy at a record player. Surrounded by his family and friends, Irv Gotti Lorenzo left this world. His legacy will resonate forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. “As we navigate this difficult time, we kindly ask for privacy while we grieve the loss of our dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend,” the statement continued.
