Hollywood Life: Nina Dobrev Reveals Depressive Disorder After E-Bike Incident

Months following her electric bicycle accident, 35-year old actress Nina Dobrev opened up about the depression she experienced during her recovery. The Vampire Diaries actress suffered several injuries which led to her June surgery. She described the treatment as “challenging”, and told E! News that she was unable to walk. She told E! News that she was “definitely in a depressive state” because of the pain medication and physical pain. I went through a very difficult time. She has been afraid to try new things since the accident. “I feel like a fear… I used be so adventurous and willing to try anything. Since the injury, I think it is because it has been a nine-month healing process. I am only three-and-a-half months into this nine month process. I’m still having to relearn how to walk, so the idea of getting back on a snowboard or a dirt bike is definitely not happening.”Now, Nina wears a knee brace to help in the healing process, and she has tried to stay active. With her partner’s support and her “incredible” support system, she said that it “really pulled” her out of “that funk.”
