GagaOOLala Announces the Release Date of Musical Series “First Note Of love”

GagaOOLala releases the Taiwanese/Thai musical First Note of Love, on August 12,

Charles Tu and Michael Chang star in the series. The streamer focuses on LGBTQ+ and Boys’ Love. Tu starred as HIStory4 Close to You in In My Heart, Love Beside Me and HIStory4: Near to You. Chang appeared in My Tooth Your Love, HBO’s Who’s By Your Side and HBO’s Who’s By Your Side.
First Note of Love is about Neil (played Tu), the lead singer of the band “Magnet,” who retreats from the limelight after the tragic death of the brother who was also in the band. The fans of the band, including Sea (played Chang), are devastated. Sea, a professional musician six years later, is invited by an unexpected person to work with his childhood hero, who still struggles with stage fright and anxiety due to the death of his brother. Together, they embark on a healing journey through music.

The cast includes Tim Liu, a Taiwanese actor (Guardian and The Lion’s Secret), as Reese who is Neil’s Agent. The majority of the 12 episodes were filmed in Kaohsiung in Taiwan.

The series includes an original eight-track album performed by artists from Warner Music Taiwan and Warner Music Thailand including Charles Tu, lead actor.

Taiwan Creative Content Agency, Video Market, Rakuten TV Japan and the Kaohsiung Film Fund funded the series. The Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development of Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture also provided support.

Tu said: “Playing Neil was both an honor, and a blessing. It allowed me to express my love of music and passion for guitar. Michael and I developed a strong bond through First Note of Love. We helped each other heal, and found the strength to move on. I hope that the audience will be able to appreciate and relate to the story we have brought to life.”
First Note of Love’s director Chien Hung Lin said: “The experience of filming this BL series was nothing short of amazing.” The cast, production team, musicians, GagaOOLala, and Warner Music Taiwan all helped me to tell a story full of breathtaking beauty, heartwarming laughter, and love without boundaries.
On August 12, the first episode of First Note of Love can be streamed globally via GagaOOLala, Video Market, and Rakuten TV (excluding Japan), LINE TV, and FriDAY in Taiwan; Heavenly in South Korea; and Rakuten Viki across multiple territories. Then, a new episode will be released each week. The first episode will be available on GagaOOLala for free with English, Mandarin Chinese, Thai, Spanish, and Bahasa subs.
