Florida’s anti-LGBTQ+ crusade continues with the deletion of its LGBTQ+ Tourism website
The site does not list the LGBTQ+-friendly destinations in the state, as it did four months ago. Internet Archive archives show that there was an LGBTQ+ section on the website in April, but it’s now gone.

The state that has become synonymous with anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination–thanks to the infamous so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bills, book bans, and anti-trans laws signed by the blatantly bigoted Gov. Ron DeSantis (R)–once said “SUNSHINE FOR ALL” and had blog posts and videos related to the state’s gay-friendly beaches, Pride events, and LGBTQ+ road trip ideas.

from its now-defunct Gender and Diversity Program. The Department of Health and Human Services issued regulations clarifying Section 1557 of Affordable Care Act, which bans discrimination based on sex and also includes protections against antitrans discrimination. DeSantis also signed a bill that prevents minors from obtaining gender-affirming health care, such as hormone replacement therapy and puberty blocking drugs.
A Broward County mother was fired from her school district job because her transgender daughter played volleyball. Jessica Norton was an information specialist at another school and a JV volleyball coach in the same district. The state of Florida fined $16,500 to the school for Norton’s involvement.
The NAACP issued a travel advisory for the entire state last year, writing that “Under its current Governor, the State of Florida has engaged in an all-out attack on Black Americans, accurate Black history, voting rights, members of the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, women’s reproductive rights, and free speech, while simultaneously embracing a culture of fear, bullying, and intimidation by public officials.”
