Find the Cat mobile game to be expanded by Agave Games raised $18M funding
Agave games announced today that they have secured $18 million as part of their Series A round. This follows a successful Seed round earlier in the year. Felix Capital, Balderton Capital and E2VC participated in the round. According to Agave, it plans to use the funding to expand its popular mobile puzzle title, Find the Cat, as well as explore development of new games and expand its team at its Istanbul location.
Find the Cat is a casual puzzle game where players must, as the name implies, find the cat. Agave claims that the game was downloaded over 10,000,000 times in the first quarter of its existence. Alper Oner said, in a press release, that “this investment allows us double down on Find the Cat’s success while exploring ideas that redefine casual puzzle gaming.” We are excited to expand our studio and portfolio by adding games that will set new standards in established genres.”
As stated above, the studio plans to develop new casual puzzle titles as a follow-up to Find the Cat. At least two of these titles will be released within the next year. Agave plans to use in-app advertisements and in-app purchase to monetize the games. Baran Terzioglu, Agave’s CPO and co-founder, said in a statement that the new games will “push the boundaries of what players expect from casual games, introducing new concepts that we believe will resonate globally.”
Rob Moffat, partner at Balderton Capital said in a separate statement, “Find the Cat is an overnight success two years in the making.
