Elon Musk blames DDOS attack on X for crashing Trump interview
It’s not only you. You might have tried to listen to Elon Musk interview Donald Trump at 8 p.m. ET on the social media platform X. No one could listen to the interview. And now we know why.
Musk tweeted about the outage at 8:18 p.m., blaming a distributed denial-of-service attack.
“There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on X. We are working to shut it down. Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later,” Musk tweeted.

A DDOS attack is a way to overload servers by sending too many requests. It’s not unlike a large number of people visiting a website all at once. This little chat is sure to be popular, given that both Musk and Trump are considered fascists. The Verge reported that a source from X had told them there was no DDOS attack. This unnamed source was quoted saying that there was a 99% chance “Elon” was lying about an attack. Musk added that X tested the
system earlier today “with 8,000,000 concurrent listeners.” If Musk is telling truth, more than 8,000,000 people could try to listen Trump and Musk spew their inane racist bullshit. The world has 8 billion people, and Twitter reportedly has about 500 million users worldwide.
“We will proceed with the smaller number of concurrent listeners at 8:30 p.m. Musk replied to a follow-up email by saying that the interview would start at 8:40 p.m. ET. The audio will be posted immediately after. The interview finally began around 8:40 p.m. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis attempted to make a big announcement in May 2023 that he would be running for President. At the time of writing, this video had hundreds of thousands viewers.
