Chappell Roan debuts ‘The Giving’ on ‘Saturday Night Live”
Chappell-Roan has introduced some new music to Saturday Night Live.
After her debut as a musical guest with “Pink Pony Club,” the rising pop star surprised her audience by singing an unknown country tune during her second performance.
She sang: “When you want the job done, just call me baby.” The song was set against a backdrop of a farm. “Cause you ain’t gotta tell me. It’s in my nature. Take it like you’re a taker because I am a giver.”
The song, “The Giver,” is not yet available on the internet, but you can watch it above.
SNL’s Facebook page shared a gif showing the singer spinning and lassoing in a gingham two-piece outfit with the title of the song. Singer-songwriter The Rise and Fall Of A Midwest Princess teased recently that a follow-up album to her smash debut in September 2023 was being worked on.
Roan said, “All of you country boys who say you know how you should treat a lady / Well only women can treat a lady right.” This was during the bridge.
Roan made an appearance on SNL Season 50 in the final episode of the NBC sketch show, which aired ahead of Election Day on Nov. 5. He appeared opposite comedian and six-time SNL host John Mulaney. In addition to Hilary Clinton’s ex-running mate Tim Kaine, Kamala Harris and Pete Davidson made a surprise appearance in the star-studded episode. The VMA winner, who made her debut on SNL earlier this week posted a throwback in which she wrote on Facebook back in 2011: ‘I am determined that I will be on SNL. ‘
