Carmelo Anthony joins NBC Sports as NBA analyst
Carmelo Anthony will join the NBC Sports Peacock team as a studio expert for the network’s revamped NBA coverage.
The 10x NBA All-Star, who appeared Saturday on NBC Sports coverage of the Kentucky Derby announced that he will be in the studio at least one night per week, starting in October. He will report on the 2025-26 season during the playoffs.
Anthony wrote on X, “A new chapter starts @NBAonNBC in the fall,” with a video teasering his new job.
NBA returns to NBC in the fall after more than 20 years on other networks. Anthony remembered the impact the network’s coverage on him as a youngster.
He said that NBC’s NBA coverage as a child shaped his love of the game. “Now, I am thrilled to be joining the NBC Sports Family.” I’ve always used my platform to help grow the game, and I’m excited to bring fans a fresh perspective as we usher in a new era of NBA coverage and programming.”
Anthony stated that he was most excited about “just building a new team, and getting back to a more team-oriented approach” after the announcement that Reggie Miller and Jamal Crawford will be joining NBA on NBC as game analysts. Mike Tirico will be joined by Noah Eagle as play-byplay analysts.
Anthony added, “The game within the game is something that needs to be discussed.” “The game inside the game is something that I believe needs to be discussed.”
Anthony’s 19-year NBA career ended in 2022, when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers. He was originally drafted by the Denver Nuggets in the first round in 2003. Carmelo Anthony has been discussing the NBA on his podcast 7PM in Brooklyn With Carmelo since retiring.
