Can the New Looney Tunes Movie change the fate of Coyote Vs. Acme?
During our sit-down interview with Looney Tunes voice actor Eric Bauza, who plays Daffy and Porky in The Day the Earth Blew Up, –hitting theaters this week thanks to Ketchup Entertainment–Bauza talked about how this latest cinematic adventure for those darn Tunes could impact another movie Warner Bros. placed on the shelf: Dave Green’s Coyote vs. Acme, starring John Cena and Will Forte alongside Bauza and other seasoned voice vets behind the animation titans.
Bauza, who voiced Bugs Bunny in the Warner Bros. Discovery’s live-action hybrid animated casualty shared this with io9. “I saw [Coyote vs. Acme] from beginning to end.” I attended almost all the test screenings for that film here in LA and it always got high ratings from the audience. “[It’s] Pretty remarkable. The movie [it’s] is a great film that has more to it than laughs. You’ll see some very emotional scenes. You feel sorry for the coyote. I thought the same thing as everyone else: that this film was a piece of garbage. Then I saw it. It’s amazing… even when a film tests well (like ours), it doesn’t guarantee it will be a success. The people who bought this movie have the right to do what they like with it. “Who’s to say it’s over and done? Who knows? They’re just too funny to sit on a shelf somewhere.” They’re just too funny to sit on a shelf somewhere.”
The Day the Earth Blew Up opens this Friday.
