Asda announced that their partnership with the Blue Light Card Scheme will end on May 27, 2025. Blue Light Card holders will no longer be able to link their discounts with the Asda rewards app as of 13th May, 11am. Then, from the end of the month, the deal will disappear altogether.

This move comes as a blow to those working in healthcare, emergency services, social care, teachers (who were only recently added to the scheme) and the armed forces, who have been using the 5% back offer on selected fresh products in-store.With food prices still high and many families feeling the pinch, losing this small boost can make a big difference.

What was the deal?

Blue Light Card holders could link their account to the Asda Rewards app and get 5% back in Asda Pounds on certain fresh products. The cashback was credited to your Asda Reward Cashpot which could be used on your next purchase. The deal will end on May 13, 2025 at 11am. You can no longer use your Blue Light Card with the Asda rewards app. Blue Light Card holders will no longer receive 5% cashback after this date. The terms of the offer have always stated that it can be withdrawn anytime. It’s important to note that other supermarkets still offer some perks.
