Co-creator

Ashley Lyle

has previously said that Yellowjackets was intended to air for five seasons. During a March 2023 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ashley noted, “The original plan was about five seasons, and we feel like we’re still on track for that.”

Although she pointed out that “there’s always room for things,” Ashley emphasized that “we don’t really see this as being more than a five-season show. There are shows that could go on forever. But I believe that when telling a story that is so deeply serialized and about the lives of these characters, it’s important to have a satisfying ending. This isn’t one of those shows that can go anywhere. We’ve been on track so far. “Season 2 is mostly what we planned. But you make many discoveries along the journey, so it’s always surprising.”
