I’m releasing a new book!
Big news! I’m releasing a brand new book! This is a completely updated version of the NYT bestseller travel guide How to Travel the World for $50 a day. This new edition, however, is entitled How to Travel the World for $75 a day. Why the new edition of this book? Well, because of inflation…and the changed way we travel post-COVID.
The last edition of my book came out in 2017 and, since then, a lot has changed. COVID changed the travel industry forever. A lot of companies/hotels/hostels closed during the pandemic while old methods of saving money became obsolete and new methods came into being.
Destinations around the world have changed too. When I wrote my last edition of the book, there were few train services in Southeast Asia. Laos now has a rail line that connects all of its major cities. Cambodia is revitalizing its system and Thailand is expanding its own. Since 2017, prices have increased significantly. This is not only due to natural inflation, but also because of the post COVID inflation boom. Traveling is not as affordable as it used to be in 2017! Since travel has changed, I wanted to write a book that reflected the current conditions travelers face in terms of planning a trip and saving money. It also reflected the different regions we visit around the globe. It’s not the same as it was back in 2017. I want you to have all the tools necessary to become a smart traveler on a budget. It’s not just an “update”, it’s basically a brand new book in my opinion! If you’ve already bought the book, don’t worry about it being the same content! This new edition includes:
A section dedicated to companies and accommodations that I like.
A section of updated resources with information about the best travel agencies and accommodations.
More on overtourism and responsible travel. Completely updated and revised destination sections with new prices, tips, and ways to save. Also includes information on transportation, accommodations, and activities.
New trips and tricks on how to save money before you go.
New ways to save money on accommodation, including ways to get free accommodation.
New ways to save money on transportation (with new information on transportation passes).
- And that’s just on top of the normal price and information updates that you would expect from new update! The book has all the information you’ll need about how to save money and get off tourist travel. This book is not just for long-term travellers. This book is for anyone who wants a smarter way to travel, save money and get off the beaten track, no matter how long their trip. The length of your trip doesn’t affect how much you can save on flights, what gear to buy or how to save in London. As part of this announcement
- I’m offering limited-time offers for pre-sale
- which, if purchased, will give you a few extra bonuses. You’ll receive the following if you purchase the book by the end of this month:

The more pre-sale sales, the greater the likelihood that the bookstore will stock the book. This would be very helpful! The book is available as a digital version in the U.S., Canada and around the world. You can also order the book from Amazon US to have it delivered anywhere in the world. If you have any questions please email me. Book Your Trip: Logistical Tricks and Tips
