Dwayne “The rock” Johnson’s transformation in Moana Live Action
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
has a new look.
The 55-year-old was spotted in full costume as his character Maui while filming the live-action remake of Disney’s Moana in Hawaii, and he looked nearly identical to his animated counterpart.During the Nov. 21 shooting day, Dwayne went shirtless–showing off his abs and full chest of tattoos–while rocking a traditional Ti leaf skirt and forearm guards. He completed the look by wearing a whale-tooth pendant and styling his hair in a half up style.
These aren’t even the only Maui-inspired items the Red One actor, who also voices the sidekick demigod in the 2016 animated film and its sequel, was spotted wearing. Dwayne also carried the fishhook that is part of his character at one time. While the rest of Dwayne’s costumes are still to be revealed, the cast that will join him on set have been announced. Disney announced in June that
Catherine Laga’aia
was to play the title role of Moana and
John Tui, her father Chief Tui. Frankie Adam portrays Moana’s mom Sina, while Rena Owoll takes on the role of Gramma Tala.
