The date you will receive your Social Security check depends on a number of factors, including how long you have been receiving benefits and if you are entitled to multiple benefits. It also depends on the day you were born. We’ll explain. Below is the complete payment schedule for September 2024, as well as some answers to questions that you might have. Social Security payments are typically paid out starting on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. The next two payments are paid on the second and third Wednesdays in the month. If you’ve received Social Security benefits before May 1997, or receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income, your payment schedule isn’t determined by your birthdate. Payments are made every month at the same time, with some exceptions. | Social Security will send out payments on the third of every month. SSI payments will go out on the first of each month. The dates can change if a holiday or weekend falls on the first or third of the month. Social Security payments were sent two days earlier, on March 1, because March 3 was a holiday. The same will happen in the month of November. |
