‘Reacher’ Spinoff Starring Maria Sten As Neagley: Amazon Series Order
Prime Video has officially ordered a Reacher spinoff to expand the universe of this hit drama. Maria Sten reprises her fan-favorite character, Frances Neagley, from the original series. Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon MGM Studios made the announcement during the Prime Video Presents Trailblazers in London event.
Deadline exclusively revealed last month that the untitled (aka Neagley) project was on a fast track and nearing green light.
Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton created the offshoot for television, after Santora developed the original series, based on Lee Child’s books. They previously worked together on Prison Break. The two will executive produce and coshowrun the spinoff produced by Amazon MGM Studios Skydance Television, and CBS Studios.
Sten’s Frances Neagley, a private investigator based in Chicago, is a former colleague of Jack Reacher’s (Alan Ritchson), who served in the Army 110th Special Investigations Unit. She becomes enraged when she discovers that an old friend of hers has been murdered in a suspicious incident. Neagley uses everything she has learned from Jack Reacher, and her experience as a member 110 Special Investigators to put herself on a path of danger in order to uncover an evil.
Ritchson will reprise his role of Reacher in the spin-off.
The decision to spin off the series was made by Vernon Sanders, head television at Amazon MGM Studios. We’re confident that this new chapter starring Maria Sten will honor the Reacher legacy and bring excitement and fresh energy to both new and old fans.

Santora & Wootton stated that Lee Child had created a rich, complex character in Neagley and Maria Sten had brought her to life with such vivid authenticity in Reacher. Amazon, Skydance Television and CBS Studios were great partners right from the beginning. We are eager to learn more about Neagley and what makes her unique.
She played a major role in Season 2, based on a book in which Neagley is a main character, Bad Luck and Trouble, emerging as Reacher’s sidekick he can bounce ideas off. Reacher and Neagley are such a popular duo on screen that Prime Video made it a point of announcing that Sten will reprise her role with Ritchson when Season 3 is based on Child’s Persuader.
In Season 3, the show’s likely spin-off, Jack Reacher, a veteran military police detective (Ritchson), must go undercover in order to rescue a prisoner held by an old foe.
Sten stated, “I am beyond excited to explore Neagley’s world and her mysterious past.” Sten said, “She is a great character to play. I am very excited to have everyone get to know her better.”
Skydance Television has released seven series through Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video, including the recent The Runarounds action-adventure show starring Octavia and Hannah Waddingham and a documentary on the Idaho Murders.

Reacher Season 2 was Prime Video’s #1 worldwide title across series and movies for its first weekend of viewing (based on viewers).
Reacher’s universe expansion joins Prime Video flagship drama The Boys which has produced four other series and Terminal List which will have an offshoot along with the popular Chris Pratt series.
