The U.S. Women’s Open continued Friday at Lancaster Country Club, bringing out thousands of spectators, many of whom were dressed in classic golf fashion — lots of polo shirts, khaki pants and athletic dresses.
Here are eight spectator looks we loved Friday at the U.S. Women’s Open. Attendees shared details about their outfits with LNP|LancasterOnline, and also shared what they’ve enjoyed about the tournament thus far. Here’s what they said, in their own words.

Tell me about your outfit and how it came together.
“I love golf fashion … So, I have lots of outfits. This is Lucky in Love (A clothing brand that sells tennis, pickleball and golf fashion). It’s matching and I love everything to match. … I go online, I watch what the ladies are wearing. … I’m a golfaholic.”
Why are you attending the U.S. Women’s Open?
“I love this course. I’ve played a number of times here. But there’s just so much excitement for the ladies to be here a second time. I was here in 2015, and it was just wonderful. Lexi Thompson, we’re following her today, because she’s retiring.”
What has been your favorite part of the event so far?
“The first day, I was in the hospitality suite, over with friends of mine … I like just walking around the beautiful course, and just watching these ladies swing so effortlessly. It’s so fun to watch.”

Tell me about your outfit and how it came together.
Bonnie: “This (skirt) is EP Pro, and (it’s) very old. I got it, actually, in an opening luncheon for a golf group I was in in Maryland. They were selling them, and they were on sale … I’ve been wearing it ever since, probably about 10 years old. The top ironically is (also) EP, but I bought it last year.”
Joan: “I can’t tell you the brands. I have no idea. I cover myself because of the sun, so I’m always looking for long sleeves. … I wanted to wear capris because it’s cool.”
Why are you attending the U.S. Women’s Open?
Joan: “I’m on the USGA rules committee, but I’m not working it. I wanted to come as a spectator, and I invited my friend.”
Bonnie: “She invited me because I come anytime, anywhere, any place.”
What has been your favorite part of the event so far?
Bonnie: “Just being here … I love Minjee Lee. We basically will follow just about anyone. We love Nelly (Korda).”
Joan: “It’s a beautiful golf course. … I’m into watching Rose (Zhang), because I was one of her referees at the Women’s Amateur in 2020.”

Tell me about your outfits and how they came together.
Devon: “Mine came from Dick’s Sporting Goods yesterday. (Steve’s shirt) is courtesy of Honeybrook Golf Club.”
Why are you attending the U.S. Women’s Open?
Devon: “It’s my first professional event, so I’m excited. He’s caddied other events.”
Steve: “We just like golf, and we just needed a date. We have a little one that my mom’s watching.”
What has been your favorite part of the event so far?
Devon: “We just got here. So, I’d say food. That’s the first thing I went for.”
Steve: “I told her there was nothing better than a hot dog at a golf course. I think I was right. … It’s a beautiful course, it’s really nice. So that’s the best part, looking around and seeing the atmosphere.”

Tell me about your outfit and how it came together.
“I got (these pants) about a year ago, just for fun. My daughters love when I wear them. I have my daughter here with me today, so I figured we’d match with some unicorn stuff.”
Why are you attending the U.S. Women’s Open?
“For fun. We enjoy golfing. We all golf together as a family. We’re just out here enjoying the day. It’s a beautiful day. Awesome tournament.”
What has been your favorite part of the event so far?
“Just seeing the tournament action. It’s been a tough course, and it’s fun to see it being a very good challenge. We saw the hole-in-one yesterday.”
Matt Silvestri and Amy Silvestri, Annville, Pennsylvania

Tell me about your outfit and how it came together.
Amy: “We didn’t buy matching outfits … I saw this top and really liked it, and I wanted to do the golf skort.”
Matt: “I actually golf quite often, so this is just a normal outfit for me. My favorite hat of all time … ‘Support your local girl dad.'”
Amy: “I didn’t know he was wearing this shirt until I saw him. … He knew what I was wearing.”
Matt: “I knew what she was wearing and was like, ‘I’m gonna wear my hat, and wear pink.’ It’s something I don’t usually do, but I was the one this time.”
Why are you attending the U.S. Women’s Open?
Amy: “Matt’s a really big golf fan.”
Matt: “A really big LPGA fan (Ladies Professional Golf Association). Women’s sports, especially right now, are just going wild. With basketball, we’re huge college basketball fans. (Amy) was a collegiate player.”
What has been your favorite part of the event so far?
Matt: Her (gesturing toward his 18-month-old daughter, Tieghan). Really just hanging out here so she can run freely and not actually bother anyone. She doesn’t like being constrained. One of the ladies (golfing) waved to her. So, she was all excited about that. The interaction, it’s much different than the guy’s (tournament), which is much busier … It’s a different vibes.
Amy: “We’re not following a specific group of women, but we get to see a whole bunch of them.”
Player outfits
While many spectators were fashionably dressed, many players in the U.S. Women’s Open golf tournament took the opportunity to make a fashion statement, too.

Hyun Kyung Park’s outfit was beautifully coordinated, with red and white accents throughout. The socks, in combination with the skirt, made it a cute look that’s also very functional.
